Karachi University Postpones all Exams due to Rain Holiday
Karachi University (KU) has announced the postponement of all exams amid heavy rains expected in the state capital after the Sindh government announced two public holidays for the institution. Separately, the Board of Secondary Education (BISE) Karachi has postponed its ongoing annual midterm exams in anticipation of torrential rains in the big city.
According to the official announcement, all midterm exams scheduled for August 24th and 25th have been postponed. BISE Karachi will announce a revised schedule for the late-stage exams later. Last night, the Sindh government announced two public holidays on August 24th and 25th to continue relief efforts in areas hit by heavy monsoon rains this year.
Data from the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) shows that Sindh received 583.7 mm of rainfall during the current monsoon season. The state average for the last 30 years was 117.6 mm. This indicates that Sindh received 396.34% more than its average precipitation for the year.
