Conceptual Exams Coming to Punjab Schools

Punjab’s Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced plans to revamp the examination system by introducing conceptual testing in schools and colleges. According to him, this initiative is part of broader efforts by the government to modernize education and make the country globally competitive.

He revealed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has established a dedicated task force to oversee these reforms and highlighted an upcoming teacher training program as a key component.

Speaking at an event at Woman University Rawalpindi, organized by the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate Education and Kantab Publisher, the minister stressed the need for practical and technology-focused learning. He mentioned empowering school and college leaders to address challenges faced by teachers and students.

He also expressed optimism that the education department’s issues would be resolved within three months. Other officials, including education experts and university chancellors, emphasized the significance of modernizing the curriculum and aligning it with global standard.

They underlined the importance of equipping students with technological skills to prepare them for a future dominated by computers and robotics. The session concluded with calls for integrating matric and intermediate systems into O and A levels, alongside a shift towards conceptual learning.
