HEC and Coursera Launch 3rd Phase of Digital Learning Initiative

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), in collaboration with Coursera, launched the Digital Learning & Skills Enrichment Initiative (DLSEI) 3.0.

This phase will provide 100,000 students and faculty with free access to over 12,000 courses and guided projects. Registration is open for students and faculty from public and private universities via HEC’s e-services portal.

Since its 2018 launch, DLSEI has upskilled 45,000 individuals with specialized certifications, completing over 267,000 courses. Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed emphasized the partnership’s goal of offering globally recognized online certifications to empower Pakistani youth.

Coursera’s Director, Matt Klein, highlighted that 99% of participants found DLSEI beneficial in enhancing skills, with many achieving career advancements. Member IT HEC Dr. Jamil Ahmad applauded the program for offering high-demand certifications and promoting digital literacy nationwide.

Coursera collaborates with over 300 global universities and companies, providing affordable, job-relevant learning to foster innovation and skill development.
