Matric and Inter Exam Dates for 2025
Following the reopening of schools and educational institutions, the Punjab Education Department has announced the schedule for educational activities, annual examinations, and the new admission policy for the Rawalpindi division, covering the period from January 15 to May 31.
According to an official circular, the new academic year for 2025-26 will begin on April 1. Admissions for Junior Class Prep, Nursery Class I, and other early grades will commence on February 3.
The schedule for annual examinations is as follows:
- Matriculation exams: Begin on March 4
- Class IX exams: Start on March 21
- Intermediate exams: Scheduled for the first week of May
Admissions in government schools will be conducted in two phases:
- From April 1 to May 31 for Classes I to II.
- From August 15 to October 31 for additional intakes.
Annual exams for Classes I to VIII will take place from March 12 to March 25, with results announced on March 31. Each class will allow new admissions up to 10% of the total student capacity, which will limit the overall number of new enrollments in government schools.
Abrar Ahmad Khan, President of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), stated that private schools will start their new admissions on February 1, with annual exams held in February. The new academic year for private schools will commence in March.
