MBBS Exam Schedule Released

The 50th meeting of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Board of Studies in Medicine on Monday approved the MBBS annual examination schedule.

Presided over by UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore, the meeting included participation from affiliated government and private medical colleges’ principals and the board’s convener, Prof Dr. Sardar Al-Farid Zafar.

It was decided that the First Professional MBBS annual exams would begin in the last week of December, with the Second Professional MBBS exams scheduled for the last week of January 2025. According to a UHS spokesperson, the Third Professional MBBS exams will be conducted in the third week of December 2024, and the Fourth Professional MBBS exams are set for the second week of January 2025.

Additionally, the final Professional MBBS annual exams will be held in the first week of February 2025.

The examination schedule was developed based on feedback from all affiliated medical colleges, considering the start and end dates of MBBS classes.

A minimum of nine months of the academic year must be completed for students to be eligible for exams, followed by one month allocated for exam preparation.

The meeting also agreed, by the Supreme Court’s ruling, that students who fail the supplementary exams cannot legally advance to the next class. It was also decided that the identities of external examiners for practical exams would be kept confidential, even from the college administration.

In his remarks, Prof Rathore mentioned that practical/clinical exams will be conducted within three weeks after the final written exam.
