While the government works to repair the damage caused by the recent floods, the Medical and Dental Colleges Admissions Test (MDCAT) is expected to be administered in November 2022.

Dr. Noushad A. Shaikh, President of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), recently met with Sindh’s Minister of Health, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, to discuss the issue. Minister Pechuho was so impressed with the performance of the PMC that he proposed holding the province-wide MDCAT on the same day.

The meeting also suggested that the exam be held around the middle of November. Last month, the PMC announced that all MDCAT tests for MBBS and BDS admissions would be held in Pakistan between September 7 and September 30.

Unfortunately, widespread devastation caused by unprecedented monsoons forced the PMC to postpone its original date.

However, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination (NHSRC) advised PMC to postpone the test due to flooding.

As a result, the PMC proposed that everyone in Pakistan take the MDCAT on the same day.

There have been rumors that it has been in discussions with both public and private medical and dental schools to set a new date, and that an announcement is on the way.
