Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ali Malkani, announced that starting next year, the annual matric and intermediate examinations will be held in March instead of the peak summer season.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a facilitation center at the Karachi Inter Board, Malkani stated that the exams would now be conducted simultaneously with the rest of the country.

When asked by a reporter why exams were previously held in the summer, Malkani replied that he had discussed the issue with the education minister and they decided to reschedule the annual exams to March from next year.

Earlier this year, several students fainted while taking exams amid load-shedding at various centers across the province. This situation prompted the government to review the examination schedule to provide relief to students.

The minister also mentioned that Sindh will transition to technology-based assessment to reduce human involvement. He added, “We will adopt an e-marking system for examinations by 2025.”
