Dr. Murad Raas, Punjab’s minister of education, introduced the “Student Performance Evaluation and Tracking System (SPETS)” at a news conference yesterday.
He stated that the software will be used to assess student performance and that parents will be kept up to date on their children’s assessments, including health and sports performance and also monitor acedemic results.
The minister added that in the first phase, students from grades 6 to 10 will be assessed using this software and the data of 500,000 students have been entered into the system.
Furthermore, he claimed that only 176 of the 650 flood-affected schools are currently operational. Meanwhile, he added, a non-salary budget will be distributed to government schools over the next 10 days.
