MDCAT Retake Date

The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) will be retaken on November 24 in Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Over 17,000 students have registered for the retest. Initially, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) conducted the test in September, but it was annulled by the Islamabad High Court.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir invalidated the September MDCAT after students filed a petition. The petition raised concerns about 26-27 out-of-syllabus questions, confusing content, and test papers being retrieved after the exam.

Six students, including Ammar Naeem, Shahzaib Wazir, and Saba Iman, filed a case against the federal government, Health Ministry, PMDC President, SZABMU Vice-Chancellor, and National Medical and Dental Board Chairman.

Students and parents peacefully protested, citing a lack of transparency in the test. The petition called for fairness, and the retest has been scheduled to address their concerns.

This decision aims to restore trust and offer students a fair opportunity for admission.
