CM Punjab Approves Annual Funds For Students Expenses

Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that the Punjab government will allocate over Rs 125 billion annually to cover the educational expenses of 25,000 students.

During a meeting with the Education Department, she instructed the relevant authorities to award prizes to top-performing students across all education boards in Punjab, as well as to the teachers of these exceptional students.

CM Maryam also approved the Students Scholarship Programme and the Laptop Scheme for students, directing the relevant authorities to take the necessary steps to launch these initiatives. She stated, “The Punjab government will allocate over Rs 125 billion annually to cover the educational expenses of 25,000 students.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif also directed the initiation of a transport program for female students, under which buses will be provided to 60 girls’ colleges in Punjab during the first phase.

She further instructed the authorities to take immediate action to establish IT hubs in all districts of Punjab.

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat attended the meeting, along with Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary to CM Sajid Zafar Dal, and Secretary Higher Education Dr. Farrukh Naveed.
