New Grading System Announced by IBCC for Matric & Intermediate Exams

The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has announced a new grading system for matric and intermediate students in Pakistan.

The change includes an increase in grace marks from three to five. This raises the passing marks to 40, up from 33.

Teachers can grant grace marks in two subjects, but not a third. The decision will apply to 2025 exams.

The new grading scale awards A++ (5.0 GPA) for 95%+ scores. Other grades range from A+ to C based on percentages.

Students below 40% will fail the exam under the new policy.
