School and colleges will remain close untill August 5 in Islamabad

On Sunday, the Federal Ministry of Education announced an extension of the summer vacation for schools and colleges in Islamabad until August 4, due to the ongoing hot weather conditions.

“Due to the intense hot and humid weather in the Federal Capital, it has been decided to extend summer vacation in ICT schools/colleges till August 4, 2024,” said a notification.

Schools and colleges will now reopen on August 5. Previously, the Sindh Education Department extended the summer break in the province until August 14 due to the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the Met Office has forecast more rain, wind, and thundershowers from July 28 to 31, with intermittent breaks in various parts of the country.

In a statement on Friday, the PMD stated that strong monsoon currents are expected to move into the upper regions from the night of July 27 and will likely spread to central and southern areas by July 29.
