Ministry of Health Ask PMC to Postpone MDCAT 2022
The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination (NHSRC) has requested the Pakistan Health Commission (PMC) to postpone the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) scheduled for 2022 due to floods across the country.
The federal government said flooding from heavy rains in Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, South Punjab, and parts of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had destroyed critical infrastructure such as hospitals, road networks, and educational facilities, according to the letter.
After the flood, 66 districts declared themselves affected by the disaster. The Ministry of Health has also written to PMC regarding the postponement of MDCAT 2022 scheduled for September 7-30.
Meanwhile, the Provincial governments are struggling to save lives in these areas, the letter said.
He added that students in the affected areas might be unable to take exams because they have broken arteries. Therefore, the Ministry requested PMC to reschedule the exam, citing the above reasons.
last week PMD announced the MDCAT 2022 timeline for admission to MBBS and BDS programs.
PMC tweeted that the exam will be held from September 7-30, but students will be able to download their roll number slips this week. However, the tweet announcing the schedule was quickly deleted.
