No Winter Camps During School Break

The Punjab School Education Department has directed private schools not to hold winter camps during the upcoming 20-day winter vacation.

According to the department, the winter break will commence on December 23 and conclude on January 12, 2025, with schools reopening on January 13, 2025.

The directive was issued on Friday after private school owners requested permission to hold winter camps to compensate for unplanned holidays and cover the pending syllabus. However, Punjab Secretary for School Education, Khalid Nazeer Wattoo, rejected the request and warned of strict legal action against any private school organizing winter camps during the vacation period.

Wattoo emphasized that the winter holidays are essential for students’ mental well-being. He advised teachers to address the pending syllabus by scheduling extra classes instead.
